I agree. Some of them loose their 'smoothness' somehow.

And I can go along with "The ModPlug Compilation" concept. It has certain potentials.
Maybe the ModPlug Download Center could play a role here. Now, the different categories are divided according to filetype.
This could also be done by dividing into categories of genre, no matter the filetype.
In that case there could be a thread in "Drone" with "The February Compilation" containing a max of 10 submissions by different writers.

If you go for ModPlug Compilation, honestly it would be too limiting. In our days of music scene destruction we should unite more. There is more than modplug, you know. I am more present at TiS, for example.
I think if we are to do a compilation, it should be more general.
Also - it is a good idea to make other genres. I would only be interested in ambient though. Besides, ambient is very unstructured - a good piece pops up here and there, while other genres are more around.
