Monthly updates aren't possible at the moment, but I'll do my best to make them possible in the future.

I'm currently working hard on improving the accuracy of the spectrum analyzer.
In the Alpha 6 release, you'll see a more accurate spectrum analyzer, functional sound resolution selection, and probably a fully working playlist editor.

Additionally, when you change the audio device or sound resolution, the changes will be applied immediately with a short interruption, without needing to stop the music or restart the application.

The Amiga Paula emulation and filter selection options in the player window will also be functional. When I noticed that these selections weren't working in Alpha 5, I couldn't fix them with a small update at that time, because the event-driven architecture migration had just started in the Alpha 5 version, which prevented a quick patch.

Either in Alpha 6 or Alpha 7, an automatic version checking and updating feature will be available for Windows and macOS. The Linux version won't include this feature, as updates will be handled through the package management system of your distribution.

On the back-end side, the event-driven architecture has been completed. This will make the app more modular, responsive, and easier to maintain as new features are added.

Just in time for OpenMPT 1.32, I implemented something like this in r23160 (can soon be obtained from https://builds.openmpt.org/builds/):

• Pattern name can now also be edited.
• It is possible to edit multiple patterns at once.

I'm not sure how the third point makes sense in the context of the pattern editor - if you can still explain it, it should probably be discussed on the issue tracker instead.

Cool ideas throughout, though it feels like it's missing a resolution, because it keeps wandering between two bass notes that are just a single note apart. It feels like the tune wants to resolve to D minor eventually but it never happens.
The Monster Lead (starting at around 1:08) should probably be a tad quieter.
Not bad otherwise.

PS: If the thread topic mentions IT format, the IT file should also be made available.

Well, when it's about bass i'm a little less criative (to stop and think, i never make a super awesome bass riff in my songs) but i'll see what i can do.

I also noticed about the D minor thing you said (i think that the string sample is out of tune), and about the monster lead, it can be a little bit more quieter.

During Easter weekend, it was time for another edition of the Revision demoparty. Bacter and I met in the studio and prepared an upbeat, dancy synthpop track for the tracked music compo. It ended up taking 4th place. Lots of inspiration came from browsing the presets of my newly-acquired Yamaha Motif-Rack XS (similar as it happened with Chasing Dreams), so there's quite a few Motif sounds in this one.

Hello Saga and Manx, I'm just wondering when OpenMPT 1.32.00 will be released? Right now I just updated to version 1.32.00.42-r23144 TEST and I like what I'm seeing, with OpenMPT 1.32.00 it feels and looks like you guys elevated OpenMPT to a whole other level. Now if I could only learn how to compose a song.

I've tried that, but no matter what, it simply doesn't work. I've used different cables too, not even they work. My amplifier is from 1968, and my speakers are from 1990, if that helps with anything.

  That sounds strange. Which amplifer is it? (manufacturer/model name/number)

I don't know the model number, but it's a Panasonic.
