sfz is much, much better for soundfont usage than mpt.

I have already received permission to distribute the MDA VST Plugins, I had requested permission for the first QS Kit.

oh yah! the mda vst's are excellent, and cover a very wide variety of plugins in a small file size.
northpole is another very nice plugin that i think was included with the qs kit too?

also, once aciddose finishes a release version of xhip, it would be a very nice vsti to include; very small and packs a punch: http://xhip.cjb.net/
unfortunately, its still under heavy development.

Oh, and @LP:  Your comment about 50mb for a 2mb prog is true, but have you ever downloaded winamp? They load it with so much *good* crap that you practically HAVE to download the 7.2meg premium version!  That's kinda what I want to accomplish here, but obviously, I won't be going above 10megs+...Hopefully.

Guess why I don't use WinAmp?

How about making the quick starters kit which is somewhat small, and an addon pack for the quick starters kit with some more examples and plugins?

"yes.. I think in this case it was wishful thinking: MPT is makng my life hard so it must be wrong" - Rewbs

Well jees, LP! I have DIALUP and I use winamp. Good idea on the addon though. We'll use the MDAs and a site list for the QS kit.

The original QuickStart Kit is here:

http://www.roncli.com/modplug/download.asp?FileID=8

I had to confirm that it did include the MDA Plugins, as I wasn't 100% sure.  As it turns out, it did, but we had to "give props" to the author in the installer:

QuoteMDA VST plugins created and provided by Paul Kellett
paul.kellett@maxim.abel.co.uk / http://www.maxim.abel.co.uk

When a new QSKit is developed, I will be happy to host it on the MODPlug downloads server, and we can also link to mirrors on other sites.  "MODPlug Quick Start Kit" and "MODPlug Beginners Kit" are searched a lot on the site, so it would be great to have it to offer again.
