It initially started as a low pass filter test in OpenMPT to see if I could get it to sorta "say" something using only a simple waveshape and the filter envelope. Then it developed by itself into a song.
And I keep thinking that my "inspiration" for this has decieved me and that this exact tune is actually from somewhere else I just can't recognize.
Oh well, I just hope it's not too similar then...

Really nice sounds you've got in there. Unfortunately halfway through the song it was a bit too repetive and I was like, how much longer?

Maybe you should give more focus to the "talking" part. Make that stand out and a bit more clearer. Now its so much blend into the background that its barely noticable and thus the repetiveness keeps going on. Didn't recognize the song though.
"Heh, maybe I should've joined the compo only because it would've meant I wouldn't have had to worry about a damn EQ or compressor for a change. " - Atlantis
"yes.. I think in this case it was wishful thinking: MPT is makng my life hard so it must be wrong" - Rewbs

Thanks! ^^

Yeah, It's more like a repetitive background sound than a "full-fledged" song. xD
I was kinda planning to add more "sentences" into the song, but I kind of got bored halfway and polished the song a bit to make it look finished :P

I might experiment a little more with this filter-voice synth thing later! ;D

...and yeah, it's just that I'm almost sure I've heard a similar melody somewhere else. I'm afraid of accidentally copying somebody's music xD

You're running out of content after one or two minutes, so it would have been wiser to just cut it off there instead of repeating and polishing the existing stuff.

Edit: Also, it's beyond my understanding what is considered to sound like "chiptunes" these days. Apparently having one small sample is enough for that.

Then again, It would've been yet wiser to do a better full song instead of just hurrying up everything... my bad.

Of course I know how chiptune sounds like (I've donde some 8Bit NES-style remixes which I believe fit into the chiptune category :P); that's why I called it "chiptune-y" and not chiptune, and added the "kinda demo-style" at the end. I just wasn't able to identify the genre correctly, so I put that in an attempt to get as closest as I could without missing the point and stuff.
(but now that I think of it, even chiptune-y is too far away from this thing)

If you can tell me the genre that best fits this, I'll edit the post! ;D
