I apologize the way I acted on my last account with all the all caps and multiple exclamation marks and name calling and such... but I am ready to man up and be serious for a change. it won't happen again, I promise. you guys can hold me to that.  I was just having a rough couple of weeks and it bit me in the ass on here. I hope you do accept my sincere apology ModPlug Forum...

We were figuring as such.

If our banned colleague is willing to mend his ways and simply be civil when posting on the forum, i think we should give him a chance. If he loses his cool again, even i wouldn't be averse to the ban and a full deletion that he ever existed to us.

Beyond the forum rules, just remember two things, moltes/Justin:
1. None of use want you to have a hard time either here in these forums, or while using ModPlug. This is why this forum exists -- we happen to think OpenMPT is a pretty damn good piece of software for a free, open-source application that was born in the 90s. We want everyone to get the most out of it, and input ideas on how to make it better. Which leads to the second point...
2. Open-source application only evolve as quickly as the number of developers who can and WANT to devote the time to improving it. Right now, we only have 1.5 devs -- Jojo (who is an expert programmer and a pretty good tracker to boot) and Relabsoluness (when he gets the inspiration and time). We have all had to be patient with what we DO get, and tolerant when our ideas never see the light of day. That is the nature of open-source projects. Please keep in mind, that a few of us can help with a lot, but i think we'd all agree that Jojo is the most qualified to offer help and advice with ModPlug, since he's inside the engine and tinkering with the parts, so to speak.

I once expressed a lot of impatience too back when i started, and i wonder how close i got to being banned. But over time, i've come to get a good view of what we're dealing with: y'know, there are people on the other sides of the line, and we need to communicate with each other the same way we would if we were face-to-face. Don't let the fact that you can't seem to get anywhere get you frustrated. Instead, approach the problem from another angle, understanding that we don't all share the same first language, and we listen from our unique perspectives, and respond in our unique way which may sound short or unfriendly or even rude. But i can assure you, everyone here wants to help, no matter what you've experienced in other forums about other appplications or subjects.
