style: breakbeat/chiptune/triphop/demostyle (err.. something between these)
name: psishock vs Elrinth - Overpolished Alien Dolphins
format: mp3/xrns (2.6)

The samplepack was really uninspiring imho, Elrinth didn't even had an idea what should we do with it. So i took initiative and carved the sounds, song ideas and the rest of the progression structure. Furthermore, he didn't had much time to work on the compo, because of real life work, but still managed to help me with the filler part ideas and some melody variations here and there. Elrinth is a classic video game music lover, so naturally i've tried to morph the style to be acceptable for him too (and hoped of course that the scene artist will find it enjoyable/nostalgic too, thus rank it better :D). While we spent a little time together, i would still call the cooperation a success, because when we did managed to work, we could easily agree with all of our suggestions.

Oh, and i gave myself an extra challenge, didn't reused any of the given instruments, but did all the extra sounds and the effects with multiple channel/dsp routing tricks.

I'm as calm as a synth without a player.  (Sam_Zen)

It surely sounds very inventive.

I quite didn't expect the retro game-sound to kick in, that was quite surprising. But overall it's very well done, I hear a lot of work was done there!  :)
