Hello, fellas.

I'm still trying to get behind the magic of an old school hip hop beat.
The drums were taken from an acoustic sample kit, I've used a bunch of filtering options to make them sound dirty.
Used an equalizer and compressor VST, wouldn't be possible to get this lo fi sound without them.
Cut the piano sample out of an anime soundtrack, then tried to break it in many different ways.

Wavosaur for cutting out the Samples;
OpenMPT for Sequencing, Precise-Cutting

Hope you like it:

Hey Fleeesch,

I think the drums sounds great! The piano melody gets repetitive, but I suppose you can't do much about that if it had been cut out of a song. Using a piano instrument will allow you to make the melody the way you want it. But it's good to challenge yourself to see what you can do with limitations.
I have no sig—wait, what this?

That's the main thing of a hip hop instrumental: It wouldn't go well with complex lyrics of the melody would also be complex, or if it would had to much variation.
But I can understand you. Before creating hip hop music I had no interest in it because of the monotone looping. Time passes, things change...

Thanks for ya feedback.
