Me trying to be a 3 piece band back in 1997 using the portastudio 1, fender mustang, crate amp, no-name bass, and jazz drum set.

I've tried to improve it by remastering in sonar.

Residue

Here I stand one among so many!
Here I stand alone drowning

       in my lack of attention
             lack of desire
             lack of will
             lack of life

in the midst of joy, pain, and misery
that doesn't touch or hurt me
               only the residue lingers....

What is this all for?
       I ask only the walls
the walls of those around me
       all so wrapped, wrapped tightly

in their own lack of attention
              their own lack of desire
              their own lack of will
              their own lack of life

Are we creatures? Are we animals?
blood thirsty demons ripping the tender threads
from the brains of those upon which we feed?

in their own lack of attention
              their own lack of desire
              their own lack of will
              their own lack of life

Are we creatures? Are we animals?
in the midst of joy, pain, and misery
              only the residue lingers....

Enjoyed. Is this also from the album 'Singles', like ""Reflections" ?

(I like to avoid such discussions on forums normally, but I can't help wondering :
- Isn't an animal a creature ?)

thanks for the listen and comments Sam!

Yes, this is from the same period as Reflections - this one is later I'm thinking because had I actually had drums I probably would have attempted them for Reflections - placing samples into tracks with fuzz guitar is really hard and the way I was working then the guitar came first.

re: creatures

in a sense it meant - "are we humans or are we animals?"
or.... you might take it as  a shortened "are we God's creatures or are we animals?"

In either case I was trying to say "are we civilized or cannibals of each others thoughts / energy / life?"
