Great. It's a while since my previous listen to music by the artist, but do you happen to like Mahavishnu Orchestra? Unless I'm confused, there are some similarities here. A pretty relaxed, minor atmosphere in this song. Relaxed at the surface, at least. Parts of the guitar solo sound (appealingly) intense and some of the chords may embody an ambiguity concerning mood (relaxed, indeed, or suggestive of something potentially less relaxing?)

The guitar playing reminded me a little of that in the other, more traditionally melodic rock oriented song, but here it's in a more experimental context perhaps. I think the bends are recognizable, among other things. You seem to have a versatile approach to style, genre, uncloned. I like it.

During the faster part of the solo I used one of John McLaughlin's string bending techniques. I presume that is the main reason for the association.

And as far as Mahavishnu Orchestra - yes, I was introduced to the band in highschool by the drummer in my band - back when MO was releasing stuff. I had another friend who went to see them live - he said it was quite loud. Personally I think MO is one of the best bands ever.
