Lyrics

Quiet

Quiet thoughts for quiet fights
Tumbled dry and folded rights
Wrapped up in a candied floss
Shrink-wrap now removed and lost

Curled, crunched into a ball
Out the window, into a wall
Bounce and twist and turn and spin
The truth is beaten into a sin

Silent thoughts for silent fights
Stitched in flesh and sewn so tight
Without belief there is no fall
The silent solstice will hear no call

Tattered and pushed on by wind
Fearing most it will never end
Down the curb, across the street
It's shiny surface crushed by feet

Sinful thoughts for sinful fights
Where all is wrong and nothing right
Left is the hand of the devil's make
The rotted pieces baked in the cake

There's a twist upon these words
That the corners to be turned
Will never live again
All eroded by the wind...

A nice song Clones, but if this is one of the few you play drums on, better keep it few..

I agree!! But desperation can make bizarre outcomes.

Nahkranoth

That's f00king awesome!!!111 And in such a way that I like even the drums (maybe I got used to it listening some early demos?)
That's another one of your tracks, clones, that deserves to be (and here I can't get the right word, damn you my co-worker girl for distracting me :D )

Hi Nahkranoth, thanks for the listen and comment.

No early demos were posted here. By this time I was exclusively using my computer to work on music so it developed in the DAW. Now though this brings to mind a problem that probably explains the drum track a bit. Using the Tascam portastudio had one BIG advantage - the headphone out was LOUD! It was meant to monitor over a moderately loud band. But the computer was normal volume wise - so it was hard to hear the music over the drums. When I did the 3 songs with almost decent drums I used the Tascam.

Nahkranoth

Sorry my bad English, clones, it's letting me down too often. I wasn't talking about your demos, just the drumming that is common to the demos of yet-to-be-famous bands. Shit, I guess I'm not clear again :D

uncloned

not to worry.

I know I'm not a drummer. Songs like this prove it.

Nahkranoth

LOL I even underlined the wrong word  Corrected.

uncloned

well... Break It Down, posted today uses Session Drummer 3 with some editing.

Sounds good to me. But personally I would add some powerchords in the background starting around 3:35.
Concerning to the drums: I think the problem here is the sound of the drums and not the playing. The playing itself is ok to me.

Nevertheless a quite enjoyable piece.

Good work, Mr Uncloned.

MrEagle:

Thanks! Yes the drum set was a jazz set - the snare and bass drum was not nearly as deep and dark sounding as I would have liked. I tried tuning them and made them worse :-(

I'm glad you liked the song!

@ Sam
- what has improved?

Sam_Zen

Well, maybe my mind did fool me, but I thought the drums were improved..

nope - its the same production.

I might have the "bundle" that is the cakewalk file for this one.  Actually I should ask my old band mate if he'd do drums on this if I do.
