I just think the Images set is beautiful - especially this one - Reflets Dans L'eau - reflections on the water - So I decided to share my midi rendering in Pianoteq 3

and since firefox plays ogg directly

and as an aside - I was playing with pianoteq and coupled the harpsichord sound with the included Chopin midi

is the midi file printed as sheet music - mangled via Sonar 8.5

for the curious - and that guy who was analyzing everything - where did he go?

Notes as i'm listening:

As a big fan of much of Debussy's piano work (because he was a dear friend of my favorite classical composer, Erik Satie), i definitely wanted to hear your rendition. I have a cassette tape somewhere with this song on it so i was already familiar with this composition.
Immediately i loved the stereo space (this from the mp3). But i was most impressed with the dynamics! I have a keen ear for the timbral change in piano dynamics (as well as the timbral changes between octaves), and i was mightily impressed. I was also very impressed with the tempo changes you used; they sounded quite human. Did you record this while playing, or program it in (as i must do)?
I'm definitely keeping this in my "soft music" rotation. Y'know, i've been so busy composing and listening to EDM and techno that i forgot how much classical music inspires me!

I'm afraid I can't play this well. I didn't make it clear - this is someone's performance captured in midi. (you can see it wasn't scored because it obliterates the bars etc. ) This particular midi came from the internet late 90's.

The VSTi is pianoteq - very expensive but actually worth the money. When I do play my controller with pianoteq the illusion of being in front of a piano is complete. (see rolling sevens)

Well i'm still keeping it, not only because it's Debussy, but also because it's rendered well.

But DO tell us when it's you or someone else. You have so many sources of music, i never know when i'm listening to your music!

it was just an oversight - I will try to make sure I don't forget in the future.

if I could play that well I'd be teaching at a small college somewhere instead of having  to play with dangerous chemicals that go boom if you screw up!

Always wondered what that life would have been like...
