Time has been in short supply. I did this improvisation a couple days ago and all the time I had last night was devoted to cleaning up some stray notes in this piano improvisation.

and then I added brass

being an improvisation it loses its way here and there - but that's life.

Enjoyed. A bit too dramatic pounding on the piano now and then.
Was the brass also improvised ?

Hi Sam, glad you enjoyed it. I recorded the improvisation as midi using a piano VSTi. To add brass I used the same midi recording but programmed the VSTi to ignore the piano sustain pedal. (Otherwise it really smears the brass). I am enjoying my combination of korg ms2000 computer and VSTi.    The brass instruments are contra tuba, tuba, bass trombone, tenor trombone, trumpet, piccolo trumpet, and french horn. Normal 12 note scale.

Listened and enjoyed 2. The pianos are indeed a bit 2 dramatic in some places, this is a calm song, they should be kinda soft everywhere imo, but nice improvisation. I personally wouldn't go so low with the piano around 5:00+.
(don't want to sound picky, just writing down my thoughts)
I'm as calm as a synth without a player.  (Sam_Zen)

Hi Psi - thanks for the listen!  In the brass version I agree the piano becomes more overbearing. I find the piano only version quieter.

I faced a problem that I need to solve - the velocity seems to jump and in places to get a bit louder I ended up pounding the keys. I'm not sure of the root of the problem here.

Any comment is welcome of course. I tend to like low notes because I like the feel of the low harmonies in my ears. Especially with sounds rich in harmonics.
