The problem with things like this (I've experienced this too in the past) :
All members of the band are very focused on playing their role correctly, not making any mistake.
This creates a kind of 'tension' atmosphere, causing a kind of 'flatness' in the performance, plus inevitable limping rhythm moments.

If that is it - the Casio CZ-101 does not have a velocity sensitive keyboard.
