Conflict of Spirit

Just a conflict of spirit
Just a conflict of spirit
Just a conflict of spirit

You can't escape yourself

Just a conflict of spirit!

This fight is as real as any
that I've seen on TV!

Just a conflict of spirit!

And the worse thing about this is
how it involves me!

Just a conflict of spirit!

If I were to state one rule
I would say it was to compete!

Just a conflict of spirit!

In the most profoundest sense they
justify Darwin......

You can't escape yourself!

MT-68 drums/percussion
CZ-101 bass
3 guitars left,center and right
1 buried backwards guitar
Echo 'slurs' on vocals (changing delay rate)

Remastered a touch in Sonar with a "live" feel reverberation vst

Inspiration:
The thing that gets to me.... being raised a Catholic.... is all the in-fighting that goes on between Christian denominations. They are fighting for your soul (or it the soul of your wallet?) and tell you that Hell awaits unless you are part of -their- Christian church instead of -your- Christian church. Never mind what Christ said about the subject because the preacher on TV has the Divine Spirit moving him....

and lets not even mention Islam, Hindus, Buddhists, whatever...

Something's wrong with the link.
(sabotage, a spell by the funda's ?..) :)
Well, I'm not religious whatsoever, but did you ever had a buddhist on your doorstep trying to convert you ?

Not a Buddhist, Moonies, Jehovah witnesses and various Protestant sects.

The link is fixed - sorry - I was multi-tasking and didn't check.

It is interesting how in America even religion is a sport.

Sam_Zen

I like it.
It sounds like it's recorded in one take with several musicians.

The lexicon reverb does that "live" sound

I"ll post the dry version later

rncekel

Nice. So, you also have these preachers trying to save you... I think they should save the effort.
To Sam: I thought you didn't listen to mp3... but there are always exceptions to any rule (even this one)

save me? no, my wallet.

Sam_Zen

Yep. Empty wallet, and a 'save as' for your brain.

Sorry, if I gave the wrong impression. I do listen to mp3, no problem.
But if the tracks are worth to put in my archive, I convert them first to ogg.

if you find something of mine worth keeping I'll convert for you to preserve the fidelity - just holler.

Sam_Zen

Listened again. I have indeed a slight preference for the (imagined) dry version.

Here it is - I was working on the mixdown but messed it up.

This is from 4-track to cassette to wav to mp3 so it is my first mix

the guitars are a bit hot though - the idea was for them to be powerful but the 4-track limited the stereo spread and therefore the mix.
