Cubaxd wondered about things made in 1978, so this was a challenge to find earlier things.
I have processed 2 tracks so far from 1975, recorded from a reel tape.

The fact that this music is so old makes it interesting. If i wouldn't know it's age i would guess it would have been made not before early 90s.
The one melody in part 1 reminds me of the film "jaws" (made in the same year :) ). I'm not sure if there was really such a melody, i've seen this film when i was a child, but i believe it was somehow equal).

Sam - do you have an academic music background?

These two pieces sound very much from the advant guard school

very nice btw!

Sam_Zen

Quotedo you have an academic music background?
Not really. Most of my knowledge is self-made.
I once spend a year as a guest-attendant student at the Sonology-institute of the Utrecht university.
That's were I met the Synthi VCS3 on a table in some of the studio's. And I was sold..
Talking about what I would call 'avant-garde' electronic music, I experienced such outcomes during that times in concerts,
but I often didn't like the outcomes at all. Many times just random things going on for too long.

obviously a lot to digest - listened to the last first

it is awesome - and the bird rocks too!

The last piece seemed to be the best

Unfortunately the others sounded more exploration than expression to me but they were interesting to listen to

Sam_Zen

It was indeed a period of exploration.

now Ice9 nice, a So On guy, has done like 100 of these with his synth

and now he is starting to mix them together....

it may turn out to be ineresting

Actually, I really liked the second one -- "exploration."  Experimental, but somehow musical, too.

cubaxd

Thank you for this old treasures :)
My favorites are "Lost sea" and the vogel piece, but the others are good too :) Are they all made in the 70s?

Sam_Zen

Yes. I got my synth in 1975. I'm planning to publish more of this material in the future.
This was stuff from a digitized reel-tape recording on CD nr 01, which counts upto 34.
Still raw conversions, so I yet have to clean them, and maybe equalize a bit.
