Feedback on Mixes.

Good Day to all,

I'm pursuing a career in sound engineering, and as a result need all the criticism I can get on my mixing skills. I've tested the following mixes on a variety of systems and to me they sound fine generally all round. However that's in my opinion, and its yours I want.

Please criticize as harshly as is required, as if it were on a PRO level.

I will experience this, but shouldn't this be placed in the download section ? That's the place for reviews after all.

EDIT: On the other hand, you're talking about mixing skills. Which is clearly another discipline than composing something.
I call this the skill to make a production of some composed material. So also the review on this should be taken place in
another category of sound impression.

I considered putting this in the downloads section but that section is primarily for people to enjoy others completed music and comment on them. My objective is to have criticism on the mixing process, so I assumed it more suitable to place it in General Chatter.

Its indeed a debate if this should be in General Chatter or Free Music Downloads. Basically, it could go in FMD, as its complete. You could put in your comments that you speciffically want to have feedback on the mixing part.

I'll leave the topic here for now, but note that not many will find your song that are actually looking to download songs. They obviously will look in the FMD forum.

Overall impression : The production is very good. A balanced use of the stereo-spectrum, and a modest use of reverb.
Concerning the chosen instruments : It's clear that you want to make something with elements of a symphony orchestra. That's also the case with how they are situated in the panorama. The only 'alien' instrument in all three pieces is the one in Hero at 3:05.
And and absence of any 'effects' on any instruments. Not being good or bad, but it is evident.
