georg - I can now see its impossible to talk sense to you. You cant seem to separate TASTE with recognizing ART.

Eg: I despise "Queen", but their music is unique, creative, expressive and technically good. I just dont like them. I wont call them crap, because truly...they arent.

So do everyone a favour and stop laying your desires down as gospel. You're doing exactly what this lovegodsway site is doing.

I don't see how one band being unique, expressive and technically good has anything to do with another band being crap. With some bands, such as Metallica, Marilyn Manson and such, I can't for a second believe that it's the music that appeals to their fans. It's the sense of being an outcast, particularly common among the young folks, they cash in on. Bastards.

you reminded me of an episode of the Simpsons in which Lisa or Bart comment: "Making teenagers depressed is like shooting fish in a barrel". The comment was about a Smashing Pumpkins performance. Members of the pumpkins also dis themselves for being rich sellouts in that episode.
