haiii!!
i just wanted to introduce myself to the users, admins and pretty much anyone on this site. ;]
my name is 0ct0squ1d. weird, i know. i have been introduced to OpenMPT about 3 years ago. back then i just researched apps for chiptune, as i was inspired by a completely random video on youtube, and who would've known that this wonderful tracker would change my life so much. :D
of course, not much was done in the first year, genuinely. i remember when i had no idea how to make tracks, or even export them, so i just held my phone to the speakers. only the past summer the things took off.

what i wanna say here is OpenMPT is something that brings me genuine joy and happiness to be a part of this community. i don't know much about it, as you can tell by the fact im only introducing myself now.
this modplugtracker is something i never knew i would clutch so tightly and commit as much as i do, even to the point of refusing to trying new music programs.

one may argue i hold myself back by staying, but i fortunately cannot get over this dedication towards the app that has stayed with me this whole time. im not a professional, maybe not even a true fan, given how i still discover new things within the familiar interface every now and then. still! that does not change my point of love.

and introduction, of course. hii!! :DDD

Welcome aboard. It can be quiet on here sometimes (a lot of lurkers) but its usually a helpful forum if you have any problems.

Like you I found OpenMPT about 3 years ago and I'm still learning stuff too, that's part of the fun using it, you can make stuff without knowing that much at all.

Hey all and 0ctoqu1d,
It's pretty strange, I feel like I'm in a similar position to you - just joined the forum and wanted to say hi too, then saw your post doing the same thing and more or less echoing my experience with MPT too! Although mines on a slightly longer timeline ...  :-[

Started using MPT early 2000's and fell in love with it. Made a few tracks, made a few friends did some collabs then life got in the way. I started making music again a few years back and tried a couple of daws but none of them felt as comfortable as I remembered MPT being. I gave in and got a copy and haven't looked back.

I definitely relate to that sense of connection with MPT. I don't know if it's nostalgia or because I like the way it works with all its little quirks - but I really enjoy using it!

Anyway I hope you carry on enjoying MPT and maybe even get to listen to some of your tracks. I'm at a point where I think I'll be posting some tunes soon so I will possibly see you all around very soon!
