Hello everyone !

I'm new to the moddign scene, and even to music in general. I wanted to test OpenMPT once more by recreating a simple theme : the them from Pacman. however, this simple song needs half notes, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do them in OpenMPT !

Does someone have a tutorial or can help me out ? I'll greatly appreciate  :)

In general, trackers (just like the MIDI protocol) don't have a concept of note durations. Notes keep sounding until the end of a sample is reached, or the volume is manipulated to be 0 or a note stop is encountered. Here's an overview of the various note stop commands and now they influence the sound: https://wiki.openmpt.org/Manual:_Patterns#Note_Column

If you are just getting started, it may also be helpful to check out the tutorial in the manual, since it would also cover these sort of things.
