Hello everyone! First time posting here even though I've been making music with OpenMPT for over two years by now. Like much of my music, the genre of this one is hard for me to categorize. It's a tense and brooding track with a twisted and chopped up kind of house beat underneath everything. I'm note sure if it has enough looping to be considered true "house" but it's the closest genre I can think of right now. If anyone knows a better genre for this track, do let me know.

The upright bass sections in this track were inspired by the theme for Ripple Star on the Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards soundtrack.

Here is the mptm. In the comments of the module I have written down exactly where I got each sample from for those interested.

Here's the Newgrounds audio if you want to listen without downloading the module or want to download the mp3. You can also find the YouTube upload of this track here, all my music gets posted to my channel before anywhere else.

I look forward to sharing more of my OpenMPT modules here. I've made a significant amount of tracks with it, including a full album consisting of DnB and House music. I don't want to share modules without including a list of the origins for each sample, so it'll be more work to share here than other places.

Welcome to the community, and thanks for sharing the MPTM file as well! Definitely could be used in some game where a tense atmosphere is needed :)

Are u young, only making music for 2 years you've gotta be a spring chicken!

And talking about spring chickens,  this is my first post as well as urs!!! and my track record on music sites probably is a 2 star performance but off I go!

I'm liking the dissonence, alot of the time the synths are a little tamed down and its not exciting to me.   Quality sounds, and there was some tracker pieces in it as well that I noticed.
Computer music is really satisfying if u get it right, but I always make sure I pay attention to all the half good bits as well cause I think it pays to notice.

The cowbell is a nice addition, and it went off into a jungle of sounds.   Knowing how to synthesize a cowbell and all its derivatives can definitely help you on your musical journey.

This 'dark house' thing sounds like its got potential to be a good type of music.
So youve got plenty more on your hard disk- been workin' hard eh?  Takes many years to finally understand where your sitting in the realm of electronic, pays to do the hard yards as well- and burn in a million songs, even if they aren't any good, doesn't make a difference ur getting xp.

I'm interested in how u can plug a synthesizer into open-mpt, that would be really cool to make one for it.   I checked out the fm synth on one of the demo songs it comes with and I successfully managed to change one of the voices and it went in!  yes I feel the power!
