hi folks... this sort of bothers after some month...

occasionally i get system crashes when hitting "play song"

sometimes when i hit the button it doesn't play immediately so i hit it a second time and my system fucks, showing a blue-screen

maybe this doesn't happen in version .39 but at the moment i'm working on a very important project
and therefore don't want to change versions through this..

maybe you can have a look at this matter

System:
P III 867 MHz
768 MB SD Ram
Win 2k Pro

thx

Edit by mod: Adjusted version number in subject conform rules(not to bitch or so, but that gives more space for subject, and its better to keep it the same on all posts)

I've never seen or heard of this so I have some questions:
How often does this happen?
Does it happen with all songs/plugins or can you narrow it down a bit?
A blue screen suggests a driver issue. What driver are you using?

Anonymous

only plugins that i'm using in almost every track are "Classic EQ", "Cyanide2" and "Blood Overdrive"

this error occurs almost every day by now.

to explain it a little more precise:
i hit "play song" and nothing happens, then i hit play again and my system crashes.
this can only be avoided by pressing "stop" after the first play

the driver i'm using is the wave mapper again, because it offers the best performance and a minor cpu-usage.
i wasn't that satisfied with the asio driver

errr.... this happens to me too:S it says:

System hardware malfunction

The System has halted....

or somehitng like that....it only happens in mpt and once in a while...

Does that imply it happens in other apps too on your system? I'm having trouble understanding how OpenMPT alone could cause a blue screen.

Could you provide your system specs and say which driver you use to see what's in common with BSV's setup?

To get a better understanding of the problem... What version are you using Dj Cruk?

"yes.. I think in this case it was wishful thinking: MPT is makng my life hard so it must be wrong" - Rewbs

hey guys i managed to get the same crash with wavelab lately.... and there was no plugin involved, so i guess it's something with my driver... *grml*

Ok... Is there a human-readable error message on the blue screen at all?

BooT-SectoR-ViruZ

jup, but i won't take a pen & piece of paper and write it down...

copy & past is rather hard when your system crashes ;)

Fair enough! Closing as it ain't an OpenMPT issue.
