Year: 1999

Album:
Half a Thought

Artist's description:
On occasion (instead of always like now ) I used to just "wing it" and try to do something with my improvisation by improvising more on top of it and then editing the daylights out of it. Like "Just What You Wanted" this piece has a very loose feel which I like though perhaps that vocal should be turned down. The drums were played live on a keyboard.

This piece is notable for its life in alt.binaries.gothic - a internet (USENET) newsgroup. By posting it there I met Michale and then I also had the experience of having my lyrics assimilated, chopped, re-arranged and then reposted by an autonomous version "marktext" - a USENET robot program that collected newsgroup posts, randomized them, and then reposted. The 'bot was an attempt to apply a very crude AI to internet posts. Of course I didn't know all of that when I saw my lyrics re-posted in a rather bizarre re-arrangement.

Daemon

There is a deamon in your heart
Ripping your flesh apart
Tearing the fabric of your brain
Causing you to be insane

There's no place for humanity
You will never set yourself free

Where is your soul now?
Where is your soul now?
Where is your soul now?
Where is your soul now?

Deamon always wants more from you
And that is all that you can do

Where is your soul now?
How far away?
Where is your soul now?
How far away?

Clawing at you and wants its only say
It doesn't matter what you may think or want
It is the ruler of all that you are

Where is your soul?
Where is it now?
Where is your soul?
Where is it now?
Where is your soul?
Where is it now?

Hardly can say : "enjoyed" .. with this impact. Well done.
It's 'fabric', by the way.
