Pekka Kauppila a sorti MauSynth

H.G. Fortune a sorti GhostMachine WoF Edition 2012

As May 6th is on a sunday this year it is a good day for a surprise in reconnecting to the past some way. The circle of the spiral crosses the point where it all began: HGFortune's very 1st public VSTi 'Wheel of Fortune' or WoF! In reminiscense to this after about 9 years here is a worthy successor GhostMachine WoF Edition 2012 which is an offspring of the bigger project GhostMachine.

GhostMachine WoF Edition 2012 ties some links to it's predecessor in having a Bass & HiSq part, a scale based algorithmic composing system, a pattern based sequencer with 2 x 8 steps instead of 4 and with the note pattern being editable. And what is most important it does have that very special vivid groovy feel back. And, yes, as of May 6th GhostMachine WoF Edition 2012 is free!

It has useful parameters to emulate typical sounds and instruments and to create new sounds (acoustic, dance, pads, animal, industrial, etc.). Several parameters are modulated by the key velocities and key notes, which increases the naturalness and expressiveness of each created preset.

Fsynthz sort PhybAce Pilot

PhybAce is a physically modelled bass guitar. The model includes:
- string, in detailed math
- plectron (stiffness, position, picking way - up to slapping)
- body resonances
- two pickups (with positions)
- "slide mode" for legato up.

PhybAce is a work in progress. This release, PhybAce Pilot, is a test of the platform, coming with limited set of features/controls, still close enough to the full-scale power of the model. It is intended to collect opinions and suggestions for the further development.

Prognum is suited for the two purposes:

Indicating current MIDI program IN BIG NUMBERS (both the 1-128 value and grouped by .

Browsing MIDI programs of a subsequent synth up and down using one single button, assignable to any MIDI controller (examples are: sustain pedal #64, portamento switch #65). Short hit on the button is one program up, long hit (>1 sec) - one down.

Two synths (two channels) may me managed with one instance of Prognum.
The second processing tract (shown in red numbers) features responsibility to the program-changing button on all channels - while sending the resulting MIDI program change message to the chosen (destination) channel only. So the user does not have to switch the MIDI keyboard to the second MIDI channel to send a program change to the second synth (e.g. a groovebox).
