For those of you who don't know, I get tracking-scene nostalgic every year in spring, usually at the end of April, beginning of May. I have noticed it myself only after some years. I just can't help it. It is part of my life.

Loading old Purple Motion s3ms into Scream Tracker. After some hard work on my job I want to relax a bit with the greatest music ever.

Dunno, but just because you have St3 on a screen I would never call that workplace "nostalgic" or whatever, sorry. I have *real* old monsters standing here (well, not that old either, but they all have Win98 installed), so *that's* what I personally call nostalgic or "oldskool".

Well, what can I say - I'd love to have some old machines available - remember, they had screen protectors over screens? - but I don't. Maybe if I have a chance to get some old machine, I will. It may seem pointless waste of time, but I am ready to learn Scream Tracker and do some tunes... at least for some time )))

Funny that those movies assumed the whole world is ran by computers and by breaking into a computer system you could control cars and real life doors. No such stuff even today )))

:D this short movie was made recently for a joke. It's not an old one, it suppose to give a funny flashback from those "old" times. Think about it as: if a modern action film was filmed back then, how would it look like?

Nostalgia is quite a personal idea, because it strongly depends on age.
Younger people feel nostalgic about  things, that are for older people still relatively recent.
I don't feel any nostalgia when I see two laptops on a table.
This one is another story.. As probably others have with their Amiga, Atari, or C64.

If it's about oldskool tracking, it's about for example FTII on a DOS 6.22 machine.

My parents had bought a Spectrum Sinclair when I was just born. I was 3 when we got our C64, so I can't really recall the sinclair. They also had the TRS-80.

But then again, I get nostalgia feelings from old dosgames too that have a screen resolution like 320x200 or smaller.

Scream Tracker 3 doesn't give me that much nostalgia actually, due to the fact that the tracker concept is still very known. But strangelly, seeing an STM file does.

BTW: Did you know that in Scream Tracker 3, and saving as .STM file, you are able to use an buildin adlib synthesizer for each sound you make?

Just press F3 to head to the sample screen. On an empty row, you see 3 dashes (---) If you load in a sample, it'll say SMP. Move your cursor there and press A. It'll then allow you to enter a configuration screen using space (first press tab to go to the right part of the screen then press space on the button [synthesizer settings] or whatever it says. I can't tell you how to program this, but I've toyed around in this in the past, and its pretty neat. You'll need to have an adlib capable soundcard for that to work though, so make sure, if you run dosbox, to actually set the right soundcard before you start. GUS will not work.

Ah, how could I have forgotten the TRS-80... I had one too. With the OS 'Newdos'

LP Chip: yay, thanks, I want to try it - I've heard about FM synthesizer inside ST3 but never saw it. Damn, what sophisticated piece of software, how much love and professionalism put into it.

What would you expect? Scream Tracker was made by no other than the Future Crew, whom Purple Motion was one of the members! :)

Yep. But as far as I know it was more or less made by one coder. Right?
