I'm guessing that there are quite a few people here who have their own websites which we might not be aware of. So in the interests of community, perhaps we should all put down our various website details and so on. Websites, blogs, twitters, whatever, I guess.

I'll kick it off.

No twitter or anything for me. My website's enough work as it is. :D

Some interesting (maybe) notes about my website:
* It's a Wordpress-based site.
* The theme is one I created from scratch recently, using the wonderful markup of the Sandbox theme (which is essentially just a designer-friendly-markup theme)
* It's not only about music -- there's stuff about web design, programming (especially Javascript), and fiddling with various OSes.

Don't we have a www button for that? X)

Yeah, but I filter that out. :) And of course there are people who might not have filled in the WWW field in their member info.

Just click on that www button right below this post. :P

The interesting part: I made a wordpress clone in one day for my blog. :P Doesn't have catgories and stuff, but it works perfectly for a blog, and that's all I need. I'm planning to translate my programming page into english, but currently, only the music stuff is bilingual.

Of course there's the button, but it's nice to explain something about the website, the disciplines, etc.
So people know a bit of what to expect, just like the 'genre' idea in the DL section.

I made and maintain my website with a simple ascii text-editor. So the layout is kept simple.
To correct typos and tags I use the debugger CSE lite. There are two portals to enter my website :

http://www.louigiverona.com/webarchive/samzen/ and http://www.samshuijzen.nl/sam/

Of course there are various departments about sound, like tracking, (modding) synthesizers, theory, samples, the 4C concept, and the tracks of my albums. Some of the pages have bilingual versions, otherwise English.
But I also do computer graphics, like fractals and virtual terrains. And I write a daily column in Dutch.
(when I started, the word 'blog' wasn't known yet)
I get the most visits on my Links page, with a fine-tuned collection of free cq open source software tools and relevant data.

Most providers actually do that nowadays. These all have the same problem: They lure people to their site and hope that they don't consume that much of the goods. Finding the lowest priced servicer will probably also mean that you'll have bad support/slow site or stuff like that.

I'm currently hosted at HostMonster (this forum is) and if I run scripts that are too CPU heavy, everything on my site gets disconnected for a few minutes showing a nasty message. I bet every single one of those hostings have something like this. They limit you on items you cannot see, like download/upload speeds, max connections per ip, too intensive = error, etc.. Just take that in mind when you search for a hosting company, and see their policy and license agreement before making the purchase.

Best thing is to have a root server. :D Those are pretty expensive (starting at €50 a month), so it's wise to share it and pay it together with some friends, as one website per root sever is a pretty dumb thing to do anyway. :D

I've found Hostgator to be nice.

$187 / year and I get unlimited traffic and TB of space.

However, I can't allow too many streams of data and hosting a internet radio station is out of the question and TOS.

To be on topic my personal site is

http://clones.soonlabel.com

but it is nothing to look at. html edited in notepad and wordpad. we are talking basic here...

But then again I'm a chemist not a programmer :-)

Well, I'm hosted with Siteground (with DNS at Hostaway here in Perth), and I must say that I'm *really* pleased with them. They let me get away with pretty much anything (I have never come across any type of limiting), and if I sign people up to them, I get a few months free, too. :)

The only problem is that the server's in the US, so there's a bit more latency than I really want when most of my visitors are here in Australia. :/

My site hasnt been messed with in years.

http://www.taralax.com

I will have subdomains for each main area of interest or endeavor I have in mind. I am off and on getting the backend up and running so that I can have a nice site finally. Still learning things as well. The main site will be the hub and explains a bit about things in general.

So, you basically mean you have no subdomains?

My main site is suecae.com

It has links to my blog, myspace and flickr. Showcasing my different areas of interest. So basically it consists of photography and music + some writing thrown in for good measure.
