Featuring Kristin, Fender Mustang and CZ-101 synth

PS the voice sample is really noisy and I've done several clean ups.
Suggestions welcomed. Module below.

Ah, a fractal. Nice.
First quick listen :
I played the XM with the old MPP 462 and it had a better panorama representation than the MP3 on a regular player..

ok - do you think it is the equalization or the mp3 conversion that is killing it?

You don't have a stereo enhancement on your player, correct?

I know modplugplayer has that.

Sam_Zen

When reviewing, I always use a default flat situation with the various audio-players. So no EQ, reverb, or stereo-enhancement.
If I just want to check a mp3-file, I play it with the F3 lister of TCommander, which has no extra settings at all.

But I did a 2nd listen to be sure.
I have to withdraw my comment about the stereo. There are just slight differences in playback volume.

So back to the work itself. A 3rd listen.
I'm keen on titles, so I had to check the dictionary about oblivion.
This is good. The right atmosphere with the right kind of 'haunting' sounds.

Hi Sam,

The whole oblivion idea came about because as I was composing this I got to a point where I didn't know what to do next.

I had composed myself into oblivion!

So the wild middle section and Kristin's quote is my solution to the compositional problem. After that it is really just an extra long coda.

Most non-rock or pop composition with me starts as an experiment.

This one was a continuation of working my guitar into electronica.
And using a drum loop (I made) against written drums.

So.... the composition was mostly done when I named it.

Related to a style named in a Dutch jazz tradition, this could be called 'instant composing'.
