Another candidate for the album 'Omgeven' with environments.
This one is about being in a boat on a river, but on another planet.
So all elements are totally different. Even the 'water' is some other substance, so sounds different.
As are the jungle at the borders, with all kinds of animals.

This is great Sam

Once again it sounds like it comes from a University program

Highly skilled musically and technically.

The sound design is really good.

Keepers for me.

Thanxs.
But this has little to do with University things.
I followed one year of lessons as a visitor student at the Sonology Institute, part of the Utrecht University.
But I mainly recognized things I already suspected, musically.
I learned some things technically, how to patch a system, etc.
The idea that everything can be be modulated by everything available.

By University I mean "serious" music

You have depth - there are relationships. In color, rhythm, and pitch

Frankly I don't think I've achieved the 3-dimensional thought I hear in this piece. Perhaps I will not ever. I dunno.

This piece ranks up there with the best advant guard I heard in college.

As opposed to my rock or much electronica this is out in land few composers travel and you crossed the ocean and made landfall.

3-dimensional (or let's start with 2-dimensional) is another aspect. Not directly relative so far.

It was a nice trip on that boat ^_^
I could swear that i was seeing some really weird living beings, while listening to it. =)

edit: one thing what i did noticed, that "deeper bubbling?" voice seemed to be too "close" compared to other creatures, it would be a lot nicer to have a safe distance with that one too. ;)
If you wanted that to be an alien water bubbling effect near the boat, then it's fine i guess... but still. =)
I'm as calm as a synth without a player.  (Sam_Zen)

I agree about the volume of the "deeper bubbling?" voice. It's a bit too dominant.
But I have no seperate tracks in my archive to correct this in another mix.
By the way, this sound is not meant to be some alien bubbling water, but represents an animal.
The representation of the alien river is made by the continuous crackling sound you hear.
