I started to like this after the break at 1:37 upto 2:20.
The 'progressive' element is too much translated into cliche gliding synth-sounds.

well... it is 25 secs of flute like synth that doesn't really slide too much

and the rest is guitar

it sounds like to me this just doesn't work for you. that section is a transition to the end.

Sam_Zen

The gliding thing was about the whole song, not about that inter-section.

then I don't know what to say except you don't like it.

which is fine

but I am at a loss to understand your observation

Sam_Zen

I meant the 'classical' synth sounds in this piece. One of the most obvious things people do first when they get a synth,
is to either use the filter envelope to create 'Pieuw- Pieuw', or connect notes with a portamento.

but... there is not very much synth
lots and lots of guitar written the way I play
bends
glissandos

there is, briefly 2 or secs flute synth before break
and a few seconds more after the middle break

so I am at a loss because you are not describing my music

also - nothing wrong with those sounds

after all flutes have been used for at least 50,000 years.....

I am genuinely puzzled Sam

Sam_Zen

Sorry to cause confusion. So I listened again.
The what I called 'synth' sound is indeed the guitar part.

yes, I actually play guitar that way and those are my home made guitar samples....

no problem

the line between guitar and synth is getting blurrier every day
