Is there a proffesional music software that is similar to Modplug Tracker but has more improvements?

BeRo

Yeah, BeRoTracker. It is a hybird tracker. Full MIDI support, full format for old formats, BUZZ-like optional modular system, native 8/16/24/32 bit mono/stereo support, automations, drum patterns, Pluginsupport and so on.

Psycle is the one I'd like to recommend.

What improvements are you looking for specifically?

Just to make something sure... Modplug went OpenSource. If you still have the 1.16 version, then lots have been changed ever since, and you might as well want to keep with MODPlug Tracker. :) (see download forum)

Personally, I feel that Renoise is quickly losing its value with the new OpenMPT out and about, especially since Renoise is commercial.

Diamond

I still prefer MPT, but MadTracker is definitely also worth a mention.

I have used during many years. It is very good. You can connect it to midi devices and instruments. I think it is totally professional.

You can get more information in

see you!!

Why should these other softwares be superior over OMPT? Should I consider learning them and using them instead of OMPT? The only thing I'm waiting for really in OMPT is 32bit sample support... otherwise, why bother changing?

The good thing about OMPT is that it forces commercial products to be improved, or they lose their value.

I recall the time when having bugs in your software was immoral.  Later bugs became normal.

I guess open source software forces companies to be creative, and not to make money with crappy products.

One amazing freeware if Orbiter, a space sim with realistic physics.  It is the best sim I have ever played.  About a year ago it didn?t have a so friendly community, but it has changed.  You may download it from
http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/orbit.html
and you may need this tutorial
http://smithplanet.com/stuff/orbiter/orbitaloperations.htm

There are some other amazing freeware programs, like anim8or www.anim8or.com if you want to make animations and 3D modelling.
Forums here http://www.anim8or.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

I think freeware and open source helps people to get educated.  I would only would have dreamed to make music if MPT never had come.

I am currently making addons for orbiter at www.orbithangar.com
I think freeware helps people to have a healthy hobbie, just like me.

I went looking for a tracker, and OpenMPT was by far the best.  (Non-commercial stuff)

The ease of use, the TUTORIAL(!!!) was brilliant.  Some help files, and after that, I was on my way.

The help files are almost completed, and it's almost a teach yourself application.

I recall these questions about what other trackers there were being rather regular (of course, that was a while ago :)). Does anybody agree that this topic should be stickied?
From MST3K episode "Pod People":
[Tommy shows Trumpy how to work a jigsaw puzzle.]
Tommy: You see? The pieces go together.
Joel: Oh, if only this film were so lucky.

LPChip

I personally think that it shouldn't be stickied. There are already that much sticky topics, and IMO this topic doesn't have enough value that it absolutelly needs to be sticky.

I don't think having a whole page worth of stickied items is worth it.

Maybe combine most of the sticky stuff into a FAQ, and sticky the FAQ.

Personally I've not read most of the stickied stuff, because there are too many of them.   EDIT:  That would explain why I posted the link about where to find samples...

I agree that this is probably not important enough to be stickied, but I'm not sure if turning the current ones into an FAQ is a good idea either.  Some of the stickies are pretty long threads.

You don't have to read through all of them, just reading the subject should usually be enough to tell you whether it's worth your time to read.
