How can I use midi instruments in my songs?

Modplug Tracker plays MIDI files, but how can I use midi instruments in my songs? I have gm.dls in the tree at left side of MPT window, but I don't know how can I put the instruments into my song.

You can drag the instruments from gm.dls to the instrument window on the instrument tab. To use actual (hardware) midi instruments tho, you'd need a midi-out plugin such as the one made by tobybear.
