MODPlug Player and Windows 8 - Opening subsequent songs

I've run into an issue where I can't double-click on a song to play it in MODPlug Player if a song has already been played, it does nothing.  Drag and drop to the player works and so does playing an initial song which opens the player.  Has anyone else noticed this problem?  Is there a fix?

Modplug player is not open source and has not been updated in very many years. Use OpenMPT for listening to your songs or xmplay.

Also, there's a setting in MODPlug player like: don't add duplicate songs. This is what causes your problem.
