Note off does not stop the note playing

I have a bass guitar instrument and when I put a note off event after it, it still plays after the note off. I have selected the right instrument to stop.

There can be many reasons for this to happen.

- Are you using samples or VST instruments?
- Do you use instruments NNA (new note action), and if so, which one?
- Do you have lots of notes behind each other without stopping them?

I am using a sample which has an instrument. I have tried all of the new note actions and they make no difference. All of the other notes have the note off action after them.

Which note off command are you using? Which track type?

If the instrument is using an envelope, turn that off to narrow down your problem-solving.
Also check that the Fade value (in the Instruments page) is not very low. Try increasing that to 1024 or more. (The LOWER the fadeout value, the LONGER the instrument's waveform fades out.)
