Hi! I'm new, here. I need help with making my own version of a video game's song. Link: http://www.brawlcustommusic.com/2624 . Seems like I have basic understanding of how the intro goes, but, so far, I'm not anywhere close to even imitating it. Any suggestions, or assistance will be appreciated. Thanks, in advance, eh!

PS: Also, I want to try using Windows sounds. I don't really know much about music composing, just yet.

It might help us knowing how much you already know about modplug tracker.

Are you able to get any sound out of it and make your own kind of music? If not, I highly recommend trying the tutorial: http://openmpt.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/TutMakeSong/

Its aimed for OpenMPT RC2 but it should work the same for OpenMPT 1.19 (newest)
"Heh, maybe I should've joined the compo only because it would've meant I wouldn't have had to worry about a damn EQ or compressor for a change. " - Atlantis
"yes.. I think in this case it was wishful thinking: MPT is makng my life hard so it must be wrong" - Rewbs

Um, I know just enough to make it play sounds. I know how to input my own "Instruments". (In this case, it's Windows sounds.) .

Um, I know just the bare minimum, I think, about the program. Um, I hope this isn't a big thing to ask about, as I feel like I should make my own version of Sonic 2's Final Boss. So far, I've got something somewhat close to the intro, in the form of Windows sounds. (From Windows XP and 7.).

Be sure and get a copy of the Offline Help Manual if you haven't already. Rookies will find this extremely helpful.

Hm. Can anyone give me some sort of tips, for doing the song? Thanks.

Yes. Stop trying to run before you even know how to walk. You will probably give up from frustration trying to start on a piece as difficult as this. Start on a simpler piece and work your way up. There is no substitute for experience.

Nostalgia anyone?

Exactly that.
