I have this youtube video, and I can't figure out what kind of music style it is. If I listen to similar styles, it seems different.

The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFjlqE_HCr8&feature=related (song: Maarten Ebbers - Een hondje met een trui) (translates to: A dog with a sweather)

My first thought goes to Indie Rock, but it doesn't seem to be that, or is it?

Any help is really appreciated. :)

Sorry to rez an old topic, but I wanted to chime in on the post. This track can be summed up to your general Blues-Rock style. It's reminiscent of a few old Tracy Chapman tracks and even has a little Led Zeppelin sound to the guitar near the end. The Black Keys also fits that genre.

Actually, it seems to be indie rock afterall. I've listened to di.fm's indie rock channel and I got similar songs played.

Thanks for the help anyway. Will give the other genres a listen sometime to see how they sound.

Quote from: WikipediaIndie rock is extremely diverse, with sub-genres that include indie pop, jangle pop, C86, and lo-fi, among others.

Ryan Moore has argued that in the wake of the appropriation of alternative rock by the corporate music industry that what became known as indie rock increasingly turned to the past to produce forms of "retro" rock that drew on garage rock, rockabilly, blues, country and swing
Indie, as in "independent", can mean just anything. And that means that labelling something as "indie rock" is not a precise definition at all. But this certainly has blues elements to it, I agree with djkurzman there.
