Help Changing Pitch to Ridiculous Heights

I'm converting an old track from a sampler to OMPT. Getting the effects just right is proving to be quite a challenge. One of those challenges includes taking a sample and jacking the pitch up so high that it basically becomes noise. In OMPT i pressed / which set the sample to play at A-6. But this is not enough. Is there a way I can raise it even more? I'm thinking maybe there's a plugin or something I don't know about. Suggestions?

Set the base octave in the main toolbar to something higher than 4, or just press the number keys when you're in the pattern editor to change the octave of the current note.

If that still doesn't help, you'll need to downsample the sample and then you can change the base octave again.

will setting the base note effect just one sample or the whole track?

Saga Musix

Setting the base octave only affects what you input. If the base octave is 4 (default), you can enter notes from C-4 to A-6. If it's 5, you can enter notes from C-5 to A-7, etc...

What if I want to slow down a sample as it's playing? The effect I'm goin for this time is like what you'd hear when you turn a record player off while the needle is still on the record.

Maybe you should have a look at the command lists first:

In case you're writing a IT/MPTM/S3M module, use Exx, else use 2xx.

I spent all day yesterday reading the files Jojo linked to and came out of it with a better understanding of how effects work, and what I can do with them. Unfortunately I was unable to replicate the effect I had achieved with my hardware sampler. I spent hours trying but it just wouldn't sound right. Today I decided it was time to try and tackle this from a different angle. My first attempt was by loading the sample into audicity and trying to manipulate the wav itself. Still no luck. After googling I heard the answer might lie in Goldwaves doppler effect, with the slowdown preset. Again failure. I was really starting to think it was hopeless, then I had one of those aha moments. Why not just resample the whole pattern, effect and all, in my hardware sampler and then make a wav out of that. And it worked! I can't believe the answer was so simple and staring me right in the face. Just thought I'd share this little story with you guys. All in all I wouldn't say it was time wasted because I learned alot about openmpt, and how to use my hardware AND software to achieve the results I needed.
