Can't add Effects to Channels

I was following a tutorial for OpenMPT (I'm new), and when I tried to add the echo effect to a channel, I realized it wasn't working.
For some strange reason, I could only select or modify one part of the channel in General view, which was the initial pan slider.

Is something wrong with my settings?
How should I fix the problem?

I found out what the problem was. I forgot to set the song type to "ImpulseTracker IT" instead of "ScreamTracker S3M."
