More Italodisco. One Night With You is another step closer to perfection when it comes to imitating the 80s eurodance style.

This track evolved quite a lot, I made and discarded at least three different starting ideas until I was satisfied and carried on with the rest of the track. But it was worth it.

The song implements basically everything Michiel Van der Kuy used in his late '80s production. Again, authentic synthesizers and samples were used; arranged in a standard italo song structure.

I doubt it's possible to get even closer without copying the actual melodies (which I did not). Imitation of style is one thing, but keeping it original is as much important.

The track itself was composed during ~4 days just before Christmas 2011. As usual, many hours of listening, and thorough research of 80s material was needed. But at the same time, much experience was gained!

I'll stop here, and let the music take you back to the 80s. Just sit back, and listen to that synth brass; spacey bells and syncleads; mighty stabs; and driving basslines. :)

Finished on 22 December 2011.

Notes as i'm listening:

Mixture of classical orchestration with modern timbres under an 80s Techno style.

The intro is a bit too "tracky"-sounding, overly artificial and almost MIDI-like. But after that the thematic development, while not very inspired (okay but not memorable), shows a better design than the composer has shared with us before. His biggest improvement is with instrumental progression and i like how the different instruments work over and explore the same thematic material.

Again the timbre choices are lacking, but it's coming along and i like how they are mixed up and separated within each musical clause.

Probably has one or two too many repetitions of some phrases, and the song is prob'ly about 2 minutes too long.

Thanks for listening!

As for the intro, I know it sounds artificial, but again - the intros in this genre often sounded like that. They had vocals in them though, so I had a little less to work with. That's no excuse though.

You're absolutely right with the song being too long. It should have ended at 4:27.
