Well... Hello,  this is my first finished song. (my "hobby is make short songs/tunes near 90 sec. max.) I was started this about 2007 and after a long time I was restored (my HDD was damaged :\ ) the song. I started tracking with MPT 1.16 lol So, please give any comment, if you like or if it's a shit, any comment are welcome.

Download: Not available at this time; a new link will be added soon.  ;)

Will have more information in the file's metadata.

EDIT: Deleted old link.

I like the drum track and some of the melodies; it sounds really nice. The mastering simply sounds good to me.

What bugs me though is that the majority of the melodies seem pretty random to me; as well as the chord progression, which strikes me as a bit awkward, I don't know. But it can just be me, wait for what the others tell you.

you've just violated composers rule #1:D

QuoteHints for Composers -- Pulse
1) Never release your first song. There are very few people who are gifted
enough to really make a quality song the first time - it's all practice
and experience! Once you *HAVE* finished a song, listen to it a couple
of days after... see whether you can view it from another point of view....

Your song have the most known good cliches from the genre, but nothing extraordinary that needs to be mentioned. Practice practice practice, and it will naturally get better after a while.

so... in other words, you have no idea how to make song structures? :) You wont progress further if you dont practice that area too, try to figure out some own structures, listen to other productions.

Yeah, you're right I dont know of sthe structure of a song, but something is beginning. Can you help me to find information about composing? some places talks in majority about music history, what I did not look so good. And I'm not sorry for having put my first song, but not knowing most of this atmosphere of music. Before another post, I will be well structured song. I owe him thanks:)

well, i wasnt made that post to make you sorry, but to make a nice joke. :D

o sure, the chemistry is simple: Practice, listen. In music, you can almost never go wrong, no matter how you approach.

Either invent new ways or follow the ones that are already proven workin' (check other artists works). It's not even important what is the genre, but try to aim your stuff to be interesting and fresh as possible. Boring cliche stuff kills the atmosphere deadly fast.

And you cannot learn to compose good stuff by reading any tons of information. You hafta develop these skills by practicing and listening. It's art, creativity, not some engineering science, that would require heavy knowledge.

Notes as i'm listening:

While it does sound "amateurish" -- basic layering, simplistic bass and melodic lines, and childlike engineering -- the progressions tell me you have a talent for composition. Given time to work with the tools you have, you will be as good as the rest of us. For now don't worry about the engineering aspect -- that always should come last AFTER you have good music. Listen to EDM from others to widen your concept of progression. You will probably find you concentrate on one or two types of progression more than others, based on your innate talents. Mine is chord and melodic progression. Tassel of Blue's is rhythmic and maybe bass progression. Psishock's is timbral progression, and perhaps melodic. These different "focuses" help give your own unique sound. Then after a while, you'll expand your "sound" in an artistic desire to gratify your inspirations. Keep producing -- and sharing -- so that those who have come before you (in the art of composing/tracking) can help you get to where you want to go.

Listen to constructive criticism, but don't necessarily heed it. A good musical composition takes the listener on a little journey into your inspiration. But it takes a little experience to learn how your music affects others, and then you'll learn the techniques of leading people by the ear to your ideas. Music is a very abstract medium, but one of the most satisfying if done well.

Okay, now. What does Arpetum mean, and who is Floonge?! :D

jmkz

Jajaja, thanks Harbinger and Arpetum is a funny name that occurred to me doing some tunes with arpeggios, a very strange, but I have a little fun doing this ... and Floonge is a variation (or remix) of the title track is not the first. It's just another name to call the combination of a third test.
