I know we have a topic dedicated to free software there, but I have decided to create a new thread which would list unusual/unknown music apps upon which I've stumbled today.

http://loopdub.sourceforge.net - triggering loops in real time

http://wired.sourceforge.net/ - free DAW for Linux

http://www.crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html - real-time music and multimedia environment

http://www.zonemobius.com/ - looping

http://gnaural.sourceforge.net/ - Binaural-beat generator released under GPL

Also, I've found a whole community of people who use looping as their main technique of music creation.

Wow -- Wired looks pretty good! I might install it tomorrow during lunch at work and have a play.

Nice research, Louigi.
"Where the future began yesterday".. Hm, I guess Zonemobius did see the EMS demo movie.
Even a loop community.. nice.
I saw mentioned an Echoplex. Isn't the Frippertronics something like that ?

Thanks LV for the list. The echoplex in the manual is an awesome piece of hardware (which is emulated)

What I saw was a picture with Robert Fripp with at least a couple reel to reels and other stuff

a couple quick links.

I asked, because a close friend of mine has an original hardware midi-unit called frippertronics.
I will ask him about the specifications.

Sam - I'd love to see a picture and/or website - that would be on my list to purchase if the price is reasonable.
