Yes, I need to spend more time exploring the GR-20 - its an excellent tool.

One thing I really want to try is the mode where each string is on a different midi channel. At that point I should be able to control 6 VSTi's at once. Its a bit tricky to get it into that mode which is why I haven't done it yet. I only tried a couple times.
