Hello, I feel like playing around with soundfonts (or samples) of 8-bit computer sounds, are there any that have NES and Atari 2600 sounds in them?  I there's a VST that has the same sounds i'd be happy to have that.

Here are some vst's that emulates 8bits sound. But I also recommend the new feature from OpenMPT that allows you to draw sound files so that you can make your own sounds now.

Instead of using soundfonts, you might use normal samples, like the chip samples from one of our modarchive torrents.

Also, if you google for soundfont gm chip, you can get these for free too.

I was looking for a soundfont that emulated the old soundcard, and I found it. On that page, it also had quite some chip sounding sf2's and sfpack's.

Some time ago I wanted to try this 8bit style too and began a little pattern you can download here : test_8bit.itz
I used basic sine, square and triangle waveforms plus 8bit drums (I have no idea where I found them but I imagine you can use them).

This is the site with complete GM SF2 banks used to emulate certain environments, like the OPL chip from the Sound Blaster 16:

Well, we "just" have two sample torrents on our tracker, the other one being Waveworld - A rather big back of all kinds of samples.

There are some LSDJ sample kits out there that, if I remember correctly, are in a usable form like wav or something.

little-scale DEFINITELY is a good source for interesting sounds. Check out the milkcrate project!
