Title: Save as with samples paths only
Post by: RG (aka AUDIOMONSTER) on February 18, 2020, 15:03:32
Hi there,

Not sure, but is there a way I could save a song (full of many samples), containing the sample paths only, in the song file, instead of all full samples, to save hard drive space ?

So, each time I load a song, it would search for samples on hard drives, as for plugins, instead of having them contained in the song file.

Not sure if such an option exists, in actual save modes ?

Yes, external samples can be used in the MPTM format: https://wiki.openmpt.org/Manual:_Samples#External_Samples
If you want to "upgrade" an existing song to use external samples, you first have to save them from within the song so that OpenMPT knows their location.
