Title: .mo3 import is possible but not mp3 and ogg samples, why?
Post by: Rakib on August 16, 2011, 00:06:44
Not filing this as a request, just want to know if there is a reason why this has not been implemented, because importing mo3 files containing mp3 and ogg samples loads just fine.

Simple: unmo3.dll transparently handles all unmo3 decompression - also sample decompression.

Could it handle the ogg and mp3 decompression for modplug also?

That is not part of its public interface, and I don't even think that its internal way of handling OGG/MP3 decompression would fit the way how OpenMPT's sample loaders work. On another note, support for various sample formats is planned by Relabs but I don't know when that will be ready.
