Title: Colour scheme exchange
Post by: bvanoudtshoorn on September 23, 2009, 09:26:12
Given the new functionality in OpenMPT that allows us to now import and export colour schemes, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread letting people exchange colour schemes.

Format for posts:

1. Link to the colour scheme

2. A screenshot (thumbnailed) of the colour scheme, if you can. Keep the images nice and small, though.

3. A short description, if you so desire.

My current colour scheme. Light, simple, and unobtrusive. I've been using this colour scheme for well over a year now.

Isn't that like a standard MPT scheme?

Yes, but ever-so-slightly tweaked. :) The row colours are different, and the colours have been toned down slightly.

I have uploaded a few (as mentioned in the release thread) to my OpenMPT Wiki:
http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/Ressourcen:_Farbschemas

(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/f/f0/Farbpreset-Jojo.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/8/8c/Farbpreset-Buzz.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/9/97/Farbpreset-Fasttracker_2_%28Old%29.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/1/16/Farbpreset-Fasttracker_2_%28Why_Colors%29.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/5/50/Farbpreset-Impulse_Tracker_%28Old%29.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/1/10/Farbpreset-Impulse_Tracker_%28Camouflage%29.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/d/d4/Farbpreset-Scream_Tracker_3_%28Gold%29.png)(http://sagamusix.de/openmpt/images/a/a1/Farbpreset-Milkytracker.png)

Don't worry, the text is German but I guess you will find out where to download the stuff easily. :)
My own scheme, just like barry's, is a slightly modified MPT scheme - I just made the VU meters a bit darker.

Other themes (besides the current default schemes) that I've added are the classic FT2 preset "Why Colors?", the default IT colours "Camouflage" and ST3's "Gold" theme. The milky theme has mostly been made by joule.

As you can see on the screenshots in my wiki, the channel separator colours will also be exchangable in the next version.

EDIT: barry, if you don't mind, I would like to put those Tango themes on my wiki. :)

Well, along this year, I made some color presets, few are for looking combinations of colors, you
probably found better ones or easy on the eyes. Try turn on/off 'Use small font' and/or 'Enable effect highlighting' to get a better 'style' to fit as you want. Comment what do you think.  ;D (hahaha, i don't know what can I say  ::))

Most of the colour schemes found in this thread are now available right from the Display configuration dialog. :)

Contributing with my favorite color schemes:

Also Saga, the foreground color shouldn't be shared with effect column color, whenever the effect isn't panning, pitch or global, this keeps preventing me from creating my Ultimate Color Scheme ;)

These are really nice Midori. Good joob. I like the first one the most for some odd reason. :)

If I had to choose, I would use the 2nd one though, because I like more color variety to make things stand out better.

Heh, my MPT-colorscheme on my laptop is also the regular MPT colors, but with Sagas tone-downs, red instrument-digits, green waveforms and sky-blue rows & highlights. I don't know why, but I seem to like the instrument-digits red in color (they're also red in my main scheme ;D)

Also, those are some nice berry-color schemes Midori - Really like the last one with cyan-hues :)

Hello, folks!

I'm David Egan, aka SgtPepperArc360, and I am new to the OpenMPT forum. I've been using OpenMPT for nearly 10 years, which makes me an experienced user.
I made three color schemes for OpenMPT and I think you might really like them!

Futuristic 504 B https://mega.nz/file/AOQzTCjQ#E1K9MT3A8NetOv-q_pVxyPsoK8AR1K7oZWBYSZkQz5c (https://mega.nz/file/AOQzTCjQ#E1K9MT3A8NetOv-q_pVxyPsoK8AR1K7oZWBYSZkQz5c)
A color scheme based on the "Blue" color scheme, but with the "Basic Colors" swatches.

Saturday 552 B https://mega.nz/file/tChDGa7R#nbnCN0BkmQUF6Kdg10TvNzvTgg0fZopV6JM2b5pS1tQ (https://mega.nz/file/tChDGa7R#nbnCN0BkmQUF6Kdg10TvNzvTgg0fZopV6JM2b5pS1tQ)
Strongly resembles the "Saturday" color scheme from FamiTracker.

Cyberpunk 594 B https://mega.nz/file/EOgXCB7a#1EKYgpZj2_hJjT1TJKDRp2-4t8BsSHUwNckf440yBxE (https://mega.nz/file/EOgXCB7a#1EKYgpZj2_hJjT1TJKDRp2-4t8BsSHUwNckf440yBxE)
My most recent color scheme.
Similar to my "Futuristic" color scheme, but it actually uses futuristic colors.

The image codes unfortunately don't work.
What do you think?

Greetings to all of you here in the OpenMPT forum-raft, newcomer (albeit not so much a newbie in tracker music in general) JWPH speaking. Here goes one of my original color scheme packs, which is more or less based on Rajarin Tokairi's webcomic Welcome to the New Age, especially the colors of the six main characters and their respective deities, of which they have their own special schemes, of course.
