whoa... thats hot! not too expensive either (as i was afraid would be the case with such an unusual thing)...
lack of linux drivers is a killer tho :\
Creative has 4 of these too :) It looks like this one has a sliding keys section... but I can be wrong ofcource :P
Quote from: "LPChip"Creative has 4 of these too :)
Well, this is a Creative Prodikeys thing, so... Don't think it slides tho, it seems there's just a lid.
You're right. But I didn't find any mention about creative, so I wasn't sure... :P
the lid will no doubt protect the keys from Violette's drool tho ;)
if i could play anything other than qwerty then this would be kinda cool.
LOL
Seems pretty useless to me lol
I imagine you'd keep pressing the keys with your elbows and hearing sounds when you just want to type something on your keyboard, that's gotta be annoying at least. And it doesn't seem to have any sliders or knobs so i guess assigning any vst parameters to those isn't an option.
Sliders and knobs, a strong one..
I can think of many extensions of the keyboard that would be a priority to me.
This input device doesn't have any inputs of its own. I have always wondered why, from the beginning, people didn't try to make a connection between the mouse and the keyboard, instead of the mouse to the motherboard.
Speaking about connections : A PC keyboard should have a 5-pole din-connector to the outside, like a 'midi thru'.
At least you have 5 volt at your disposal from the PC powerunit to feed some external device.
Other extensions I would like : A simple infra-red device in the KB, to be able to trigger e.g. the 'Enter'-key with any button of my tv-remote-control.

It's a space saver and pretty cheap, so I don't think it's useless... And you can always put your elbows on the lid.
I'd buy it if I could spare the cash right now. Sadly the new baby is eating up my spare money :D
That is quite an unusual keyboard Violette's got there, but that is not quite as unusual as this one. It even has a mouse to boot (not sandal (That is a joke.))

Happy new year everybody!
Personally, I'd like to see the keyboard violette's got listed hacked for gaming. Imagine playing some Counterstrike:
"BOOM, C#-SHOT, BITCH!"

ROFL, that'd be hilarious!!! :D
They'd probably call you a cheater afterwards though...
Huh, how the hell did you been able to kill me? No way thats possible...
you: Oh, easy... I pressed C# and F at the same time...
You were an easy target! Your weak spot is high notes combined with symbols! That makes it easy to kill you then. D-7 ampersand! G♯-9 at sign! F flat-10 asterisk! I apparently cannot paste pictures into my posts, so the flat symbol is not there. I thought that I had seen it in Word's symbol box, but apparently not.

Thus begins the time-honoured sport of "Armchair Tracker."
heh l33t-speek meets Bach-speak.
F# YOU!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! LPChip's was funny too. And RWP's was just damn hilarious. Now I know why I'm NEVER LEAVING HERE AGAIN.

Well.... you've started it... :P
That I did. But either way, you guys are damn amazing.
Quote from: "SoundCrafter"That I did. But either way, you guys are damn amazing.
:) You too :P
btw... in your signature it says: Lowpass filter! Duck!.... Shouldn't that be Lowpass filter! Jump! ? :P
Oh hoho! Tricky tricky! One could say it like that. I prefer to believe it's "lowpass" in the sorta "Low bridge" or "Low clearance" sorta way. It's lowpass filter, not, "Mayday we're skidding on the ground without our landing gear filter"

Actually I have a reason to say why its funnier to say Watch out, lowpass filter, jump!
See, A low pass filter actually is like a room where only the bottom frequencies get through (eg. a wall with only an opening at the bottom)... Obviously, we sound experts know that, but a nipwith won't know that, so if you tell that guy to jump, he'll get hurt
Oh, and afterwards, you can ofcource say: eh sorry, i ment duck! ROFL
Didn't feel like arguing about it, mainly cuz you're pretty much right :P . When I did it, I imagined the filter cutoff as an imaginary floating horizontal bar that was, well, relatively low. So I changed it.
ROFL...
I have to admit, that last line does it
so... what do you do when encountering a band pass filter sweep?
I've often found that altering my molecular structure is the best approach.
