So who's going to be the first to build a cross-platform, browser-based tracker with an HTML/CSS/JavaScript front-end and OpenMPT's playback engine, rendering audio through the Native Client APIs? ;)

Maybe it's me who didn't understand correctly but this means that you download the code, compile it in your computer and then run it in your browser?
I don't know about the compiling time everytime I want to start modplug..
I think they show the compile step just to illustrate what a developer has to do. My understanding is that the native bits are served to the client in binary form.
Even better if you could have this is on google wave, this would take music colaboration on a another level.
