i run the latest version of mod plug tracker on mac via wine.
the mouse keeps getting stuck and dragging the whole program all around when i move the mouse and i cant get rid of it.
even if i close the program and re open it, the same thing happens.
any help much appreciated.

Sounds like a Wine issue. There certainly were no big changes in the GUI code lately and the last time I checked OpenMPT on Ubuntu in Wine, it ran reasonably well. It would probably be a good idea to file a bug report on the Wine bugtracker (http://bugs.winehq.org/), as I don't think we can do much about this issue.

would installing the latest version of wine fix the bug?
That's indeed quite old. The last version of Wine I tested OpenMPT with was 1.2.2, and it certainly didn't have that bug.
