Interesting tip Katz, i'm sure that i'll recognize some of them from my past. =)
Also, this may not be entirely related to this topic, but i've never got the idea, why is better to have 100 different vsti for every task (or hardware) if you could have 1 flexible that can be adjusted, expanded for your every need, on the fly?

I think one has so many because not one does everything well.

at least that's my excuse.

however, my Korg beats the crap out of any VSTi that claims to do what it does (analog modeling).

now... I'm aiming to get all those lovely knobs on my MS2000 to twiddle with the settings of a VSTi... not figured it out yet - but I will!

yep, it's the swiss knife issue.
But a VSTi is a plugin, needing a host, which is a different situation than a hardware synth.
