A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
Glasses are gone ?
This is excellent work, Clones.
Thank you!
My son likes this one too - its the 2nd or 3rd one - all of my family are *very* hard to please :-) And of course they all would like different music from me as well....
the glasses went because I thought - who cares about traxinspace at modplug.
But....

Very good, clones! Nice background for the images of the street shifting fast as you're going to the place of work.
P.S. Should I blame E.A.P. for the short duration? :D
Hi Nahkranoth, thanks for the listen, comment and liking.
The poem is in its entirety and the song is almost 4 minutes long :-)

Those 4 mins passed like 40 seconds, and it definitely means that the track is GOOD!!!111
I don't know how to critique but I'll just say this is excellent. Artfully spoken and perfect backing music clones.
Thank you :-)
bump for Oliwerko

Thanks a lot for the bumps Chris :)
In case you run out of ideas, about what should be narrated next, maybe Shelley's "Ozymandias" or Blake's "Tyger" would be a nice choice ;)
I really enjoy these pieces. It's interesting how spoken word can do magic.
This is a very impressive - and expressive - piece of work. Well done!
Hi Oliwerko,
You are welcome for the bump, my pleasure.
I tagged all of the spoken word / poetry pieces on my blog for you. If you follow this link you will find them. I have 22 on my blog though I think there are more lurking around.

I'll look at your suggested texts. I have not read either author so I'm looking forward to that!
@The Caller - thank you very much!!
I owe some listening to this site. I will try to get to that in the next couple weeks. I'm pretty busy these days - I do not mean to be rude - everyone who posts here at Modplug invariably has music I learn something from and enjoy.
Chris
I like this a lot. Good Job.
