Title: 1.17.03.03 alt-p causing pattern cursor jump
Post by: Snu on January 19, 2010, 23:19:32
Full Version:
OpenMPT v1.17.3.03

Has the bug occured in previous versions? If yes, please specify version(s): this is an oldie... even is there back in the original pre-opensource 1.16 version

Description of the bug:when pressing alt-p (or the switch to pattern shortcut) on the pattern tab, the cursor will move to a previous position

How often does it happen?:always

How to reproduce (step by step description):
1. go to the pattern tab
2. switch to another tab
3. go back to pattern tab
4. move the cursor
5. press alt-p (or the switch to pattern shortcut)

the cursor will move to the previous position (before you moved it in step 4).
moving the cursor somewhere, then going to another tab will make that position the spot the cursor returns to.

not a big deal really, just kinda odd...

I am guessing that you are referring to the horizontal scrollbar. It is quite an odd behavior indeed and can be quite annoying at times.

It's never too late to fix oldies.

Okay, apparently the fix for this breaks something else (http://bugs.openmpt.org/view.php?id=460), and making a non-trivial fix for this bug that avoid breaking the other stuff is really not worth the work. So, reverting to the old behaviour.
